America, Thank you and congratulations
I want to thank and congratulate us as Americans. Thank you for voting in a way that restored a bit of my faith in our country and our system. I want to congratulate us for conquering our fears and moving forward for change. Bush and his cronies did a good job of making many of us afraid not to elect him and his party. Saying they were the only ones who could fix the quagmire they concocted, and yesterday we as a nation said enough! We won’t be slaves to fear any more, we will be champions of hope and change.
Whether you are democrat or republican, conservative or liberal, black or white, minority or majority, this was a victory for US. No matter who you voted for thank you for making your voice heard and taking your time to show you care. Thank you to the youth of America for showing up in record numbers and dispelling the myth of apathy. Thank you McCain for delivering the most gracious speech I have heard in a presidential race. Thank you Obama for delivering a speech that gave me chills of pure amazement. Thank you for demonstrating that the American dream is still alive and well, showing that truly anyone can be President in this great country of ours. Congratulations on conquering our fears, our hatreds, our superstitions, and breaking free of new myths. It is indeed a great and historic day in America.
Thank you for reading, Josh “Shua” Peters
This is not now, nor will it ever be a political blog, but either way the election went I had decided to find the positive and acknowledge the effort.
